Leveraging festive demand, FPOs demonstrated their ability to aggregate, distribute, and market essential commodities at scale—while keeping value firmly within the member ecosystem.
Vedasanthur, Aathoor and Shanarpatty Jeevidam FPOs emerged as standout performers, achieving a record monthly turnover of more than ₹70 lakhs through the distribution of 2,400 grocery kits and 2,000 rice bags, setting a new benchmark for cluster-driven execution. Walajabad Neithal Jeevidam FPO followed with ₹54 lakhs in Diwali sales, distributing 1,526 grocery kits and gaining additional market visibility by showcasing pulses at an HDFC Parivartan exhibition.
Vathalagundu Jeevidam FPO demonstrated logistical strength by distributing 1,768 rice bags and 220 litres of edible oil, contributing over ₹28.26 lakhs to its monthly turnover through a single festive initiative. Keerapalayam Jeevidam FPO successfully converted bulk demand into profit, supplying 600 grocery kits to a federation and generating a transaction value of ₹18.99 lakhs with a net surplus of ₹2.10 lakhs. Meanwhile, Mudukulathur Jeevidam FPO differentiated itself through value addition, preparing 300 Diwali kits that included four varieties of in-house processed masala powders, while also supplying products to multiple neighbouring FPOs.
Beyond impressive numbers, Consumer Mutuals proved to be a strategic business pillar. Several FPOs used Diwali business to cover operational expenses, strengthen inter-FPO trade, and generate short-term livelihoods through member-led packing and processing activities. The season also highlighted the importance of advance planning, decentralized delivery, and buffer stock strategies, which are now being internalized for future high-volume campaigns.
Overall, the Diwali 2025 experience reaffirmed that festival-linked Consumer Mutuals are not just seasonal sales drives, but powerful instruments for scale, sustainability, and member value creation within the Jeevidam ecosystem.
