Jeevidam facilitated the launch of the Holistic Rural Development Programme (HRDP) at K.V. Kuppam on Wednesday, 8th October 2025, marking a significant step towards integrated and sustainable rural development.
The HRDP aims to address rural challenges through a convergent approach, integrating interventions in agriculture, health, education, environment, and livelihood development. The programme will be implemented across 15 villages in K.V. Kuppam block over a three-year period, with financial support from HDFC Bank Parivartan and technical facilitation by DHAN Foundation.
The programme was formally inaugurated by Mr. Maniraj, Deputy Director of Agriculture, who presided over the event as the Chief Guest. In his address, he underscored the importance of integrated development models in strengthening rural resilience.
Delivering the introductory remarks, Mr. Palanichamy from DHAN Foundation highlighted ongoing initiatives in rainfed agriculture development in Vellore district, with a special focus on K.V. Kuppam. The Jeevidam team subsequently elaborated on the programme objectives, key components, and the livelihood enhancement outcomes envisaged under HRDP, emphasizing sustainable and inclusive growth.
The event was attended by eminent dignitaries including Mr. Senthilkumar, Branch Manager, HDFC Bank, Gudiyatham; Mr. Sripatharajan, District Development Manager, NABARD; Mr. Anduvan, Joint Director, Animal Husbandry Department; and officials from the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA)—Ms. Malarvizhi and Mr. Darwin Kumar—who shared their felicitations and perspectives.
As a symbolic beginning to the programme, the Chief Guests distributed saplings, quality groundnut seeds, and home garden vegetable seeds to farmers through DHAN Foundation. The launch event witnessed active participation from government officials, community leaders, farmers, and women’s self-help group representatives, marking a promising start to the HRDP and reinforcing collective commitment towards holistic rural transformation in K.V. Kuppam
